The primary function of investment casting tooling is to create consistent wax patterns with accurate dimensions and stable quality. During production, molten wax is injected into the tooling cavity under controlled pressure. After cooling, the wax pattern is removed and assembled into a wax tree before moving through the remaining investment casting process.
Since every final casting originates from a wax pattern, the quality of the tooling directly affects:
Dimensional accuracy
Surface finish
Production consistency
Casting repeatability
Overall manufacturing efficiency
Poorly designed tooling can lead to dimensional variation, excessive flash, incomplete wax filling, or difficulties during pattern removal, all of which increase production costs over time.
